Prof. Margarita Salas

Research Professor within the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and ex-President of the Institute of Spain, with over 300 publications in international journals. She was an inventor a biotechnology patent in which raised more than USD$ 10 million in the first year of marketing. Member of European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). Recipient of the Carlos J. Finlay Award (Unesco), She received the Rey Jaime I Prize for Research and also received the Santiago Ramon y Cajal National Award for Research, among other accolades.

 

Prof. Luis Blanco

Research Professor at Molecular Biology Centre Severo Ochoa of Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) in Madrid. He is an international expert in the molecular biology of polymerases and their biotechnological and biomedical applications. Has identified and characterised several polymerases including that of phage phi29, as well as Pol lambda and Pol mu, Leader of different national and international projects in the field of polymerases and author of more that 100 articles in international journals.


Prof. Antonio Bernad Miana

Head of Regenerative Cardiology Department at the National Centre for Cardiovascular Research, throughout his career, Dr. Bernard has focused on the study of specific molecular systems as therapeutic agents and potential applications of stem cells. He directs numerous national and international projects in gene therapy and stem cells. He has authored over 80 scientific publications in Cellular and Molecular Biology.


Prof. Laura Lechuga

PhD in Chemistry - Universidad Complutense de Madrid ,CSIC Research Professor at the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Centre CINC2 (Barcelona), Director of the Nanobiosensors and Molecular Nanobiophysics Group at CINC2 (Barcelona). Laura is an International expert in the development of biosensors, with applications in the detection of contaminants, and early diagnosis of diseases such as cancer. Member of several international committees in her field. Author of more that 100 articles in international journals.


Prof. José López Barneo

PhD in Medicine and Surgery - Universidad de Sevilla, Director of the Institute of Biomedicine in Sevilla, Research Coordinator at the Hospital Universitario Vírgen del Rocío, Research Coordinator of Stem Cell Research for the Junta de Andalucía. Member of the European Academy and of the Advisory Board of the Ministry of Health and president of the Spanish Neuroscience Society. I National Prize for Research in Science and Technology, Medal of Andalucía, Rey Jaime I Prize for Research,Maimónides Prize for Research - Andalucía, Lilly Foundation Prize for biomedical research.
